Terms of use
Effective 2 October 2026 · Public beta
Operator: Vicus. Use Contact & support on the home page for help, privacy requests, account deletion or a review of a moderation decision. You can also email grn.misc@gmail.com.
Who can use Vicus
You must be at least 18. Browsing is public. A verified Vicus account and a completed Vicus profile are required to post or contact people. Keep your account secure and provide accurate information.
Introductions and agreements
Vicus helps people find paid help and unpaid volunteering in Australia. You and the other participant agree on scope, qualifications, timing, payment, expenses and cancellation directly. Vicus does not collect job payments, provide escrow, employ helpers, insure work, verify licences or guarantee performance. Check licences, insurance and suitability before work begins.
Volunteer opportunities must be genuinely unpaid and benefit a person or community. Do not use them to advertise unpaid commercial staffing. There is no mandatory commission. Optional contributions are not currently collected.
Respectful and lawful use
No fraud, harassment, discrimination, unlawful or dangerous work, misleading listings, spam or misuse of other people’s information. Do not publish private addresses, financial details or identity documents. Only upload content you have permission to share. You allow Vicus to store and display that content to operate the service.
Feedback and karma
Feedback must describe a real completed connection. Paid-work ratings and volunteer thanks are public. Organiser-confirmed volunteer completion earns one karma point per task. Ratings and karma are community signals, not background checks or guarantees. Do not create fake connections or exchange misleading reviews.
Reports and complaints
Report listings or use Contact & support for abusive conduct and disputed feedback. The operator may remove content or suspend accounts for violations, and records moderation actions. You can request a review through support. Vicus does not decide contractual workmanship or payment disputes; raise those directly with the other participant and seek appropriate consumer assistance when needed. Nothing in these terms removes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under Australian law.
Availability and changes
Features may change and outages can occur. Keep your own records of agreements. Material changes to these terms will require renewed acceptance before further participation. These terms do not promise uninterrupted service.
